Winemaking

The Secco is Bertani's flagship wine, which has been made since the 1870's. It is a Valpolicella Classico Ripasso, which means that the wine, after vinification in stainless steel is then pumped over the lees of the Amarone which has been racked into barrel. This adds considerably to the complexity and length of the wine.
