Pale gold. Fresh lemon and quince on the nose, with a dusting of white pepper adding urgency. Dry, tightly wound citrus flavors gain weight and flesh with air, picking up a note of green apple. Refreshingly brisk wine with good finishing clarity and spiciness. 88 points

87 points. Drink: 2009 - 2011. The 2009 Pinot Grigio contains 8% Viognier. Medium straw-colored, it displays citrus and stone fruit aromas. Dry on the palate, it has plenty of ripe, spicy fruit and a crisp finish. Can be enjoyed over the next 1-2 years.

3*, 16 points. One of a number of new varieties planted in their Limestone Coast and Langhorne Creek vineyards, this Pinot Grigio from Ben Glaetzer and his merry men shows fresh pear aromas and fruit with a spicy, Alsace-like opulence and refreshing acidity.

Winemaking
Both varieties were vinified separately, with four harvest dates to provide contrasting levels of ripeness. The pinot grigio underwent a short period of skin contact to enhance the palate structure. The viognier was crushed, chilled and pressed immediately. Cool ferment in stainless steel was followed by lees stirring and cold stabilisation. Bottled early to retain aromatics and freshness.
