Product details

  • Winemaker

    Sandro Mosele
  • Variety

    Pinot Noir
  • Concentrated aroma of black cherry fruit with savoury, spicy, mineral characteristics. Touch of dried cherries. Displays more and more complexity with aeration. Concentrated on the palate, with rich, velvety texture. Very complete - fine-grained tannin and juicy acidity. Great persistence. Anise on finish. Drink 2010-2017. The Ferrous vineyard is named after the red, iron-rich sandstone pebbles that proliferate in the soil. Their high incidence places the vines under greater stress, so the resulting wine has firm tannins and very concentrated fruit, giving it has great potential to improve with age.

4 * Opulent floral and red berry nose, supple, full body, good acidity and fine tannins, developing earthy, savoury character. Drink now – 2016.

Decanter MagazineFebruary 2010

The palate has fleshed out with a couple of years under its belt. Plummy with savoury morel, refined tannins and a mineral undertow. Drinking very well now and will keep 2-3 years yet.

Sarah Ahmed – The Wine DetectiveFebruary 2010

92/100 Stylish Pinot Noir nose, very good intense rich red berry fruit quality with a nice touch of spicy vanillan oak in modern Burgundian style and very good fresh acidity, a classic cool climate Australian Pinot whose balance of delicacy, rich red berry fruits and mineral dry aftertaste makes it one of Australia's best. Lovely balance and stylish crafting, a ringer for a good Nuits Saint Georges or Chambolle.
