  • From 40-year-old vines, the colour is light gold with a hint of straw. A smoky, honeyed 'honeycomb' character emerges from a fairly discreet nose. Peach skin aromas and a waxy apple quality. On the palate this has some of that luscious barley sugar sweetness and richness, but the fat, lemony acidity keeps the wine fresh and appetising. Everything is fantastically well integrated. Wow!

91/100 Tasted at the Decanter Tokaji tasting November 2009. A well-defined bouquet; dried apricot, a touch of honey, lemon curd and ginger biscuits! Good focus here. The palate is medium-bodied with very good acidity, real vibrancy here with tangy mango, tangerine, marmalade fruit, taut and focused towards the finish. This has real longevity. Excellent. Drink now-2020+.
