Bernard de Nonancourt has Champagne in his veins, having grown up, worked, fought (in the French resistance) and lived in the area his entire life, and it is primarily down to his spirit that the Champagne House of Laurent Perrier, bought by his mother in 1938, has moved from 100th place in terms of sales in 1949, into the top five today, and is the largest family-run Champagne House.

The quality of the Champagne is maintained by Chef de Cave Michel Fauconnet, who joined the company in 1974 and who took over from Alain Terrier, widely thought of as one of the area's greatest winemakers.

Laurent Perrier Rosé is unusually made using skin contact - the saignée method.
