Philippe Vatan took over running the family’s château and the 15 hectares of vineyards in 1987, and has since turned the estate into one of the most highly acclaimed sources of red and white wine in the Loire Valley. As well as the Cabernet Franc, planted for the Saumur Rouge, Philippe has a fine parcel of Chenin Blanc producing very low yields and fantastic quality.
