Château Larose Perganson

Cru Bourgeois Haut Médoc

Château Larose Perganson has been part of Larose Trintaudon since the eighteenth century but the wine from the property has only been vinified separately since 1993, under the direction of winemaker and general manager Franck Bijon. The property borders Pauillac and St Julien, adjacent to the vineyards of Château Batailley, as well as some plots owned by Ducru Beaucaillou. The grapes are picked by hand, late in the harvest season and the limited yields and careful selection ensure the quality of the fruit.

In the winery quality is enhanced by careful pumping over, controlled temperatures and long maceration depending on the vintage (up to five weeks for certain vats of Cabernet Sauvignon). Rigorous selection during the blending brings the final touch to the wine, which is then matured for twelve months in French oak barrels, 40% of which are new each year. In vintages where rain falls prior to harvesting, the process of reverse osmosis is used to enhance concentration.
