Sauternes

This impressive château dates back to the 13th Century, and was classed as a Sauternes Premier Cru in the 1800s. The vineyard covers approximately 40 hectares and is planted with 90% Semillon and 5% each of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. It is capable of producing exceptionally fine wine, and while the second wine, La Chapelle, is more approachable and forward it nonetheless possesses some of the class of its pricier sibling.
