Domaine Jaeger-Defaix

Rully

Located in the south of Côte de Beaune, this is a vineyard of 4.5ha located on the more prestigious first crus of Rully, owned and managed by Hélène Jaeger-Defaix, whose great-grandfather Henri Niepce was instrumental in achieving and promoting Rully's AOC status in the 1930`s. The Niepce family have been growing wine in this area since the 16th century, and Hélène took over the first vineyard from her great-aunt in October 2002. A year later she took over her second plot, with its first harvest in 2004, and has managed the entire estate since the beginning of 2005. Hélène is married to Didier Defaix, who runs his father's vineyard in Chablis, and the Rully estate is run in the same spirit - that is with the respect for the environment and with the expression of the terroir as the main goal.
