Product details

  • Created by Julián Chivite as an homage to his great friend and top Spanish chef José María Arzak. This food friendly rose wine is made up of a blend of 54% Garnacha and 46% Tempranillo and has been aged on its lees for six months prior to bottling. The Garnacha and Tempranillo grapes are grown on the Finca de Legardeta, land that has belonged to the Chivite family for hundreds of years, where the continental climate and soil contribute to the characteristics of all of the Chivite wines. NOSE Intense. Very fruity, strawberry, pomegranate, raspberry, blackberry with rose petals at the end. PALATE Smooth and tasty. Balanced and satisfying mouth feel. Long persistence on the finish with notes of cherry in the aftertaste. Delicious!

“Provencal-pale, with great red fruit intensity, lovely weight and presence. Cool skittle pin bottle!” – Edward Mercer, Private Client Sales

(2015 vintage) Dedicated to legendary Spanish chef Juan Mari Arzak, this should be a gastronomic rose and it is. Clean, crisp and incisive with mouth-watering acidity, it could almost be a white wine. Drink with prawns, fresh crab, sashimi. The 2016 vintage is available in magnums.”

(2015 Vintage) Rose petal and light herbal notes on the nose. Red-fruited on the palate with a warm finish.

Found this in the local bodega - liked the colour and bottle shape. Great quality @ 10 euros. Review by David 6558

I am constantly amazed at how the Spanish have improved the quality of their rose wines. It seems only yesterday that it was basically a mixture of red and white wine, yet in the last 3 or 4 years we have been finding wines that are difficult to distinguish from those from Provence. This particular wine is beautifully balanced, delicate on the nose and has that lovely fresh taste that is so important to a decent rose. (Posted on 14/04/2017)
