  • From the ‘King of Chenin’ Ken Forrester FMC, this flagship wine is rich, seductive, and very sophisticated. Layer upon layer of candied lemon, dried apricot and vanilla, with a touch of honey and spice, effortlessly supported by gentle oak, and a lovely freshness. This wine is still showing the exuberance and nerviness of youth, and will develop and blossom even more over the next few years.

Press ReviewPress

(2015 VINTAGE)...our best vintage ever. Now still very closed, but shows the softness of coconut milk, raw almonds and some hazelnut (from the barrels) and then a hint of pineapple and baked apple tart, finishing off with the now characteristic ripe grapefruit zing. Close your eyes and think of great Montrachet, bold, rich but ever so reserved.

Ken ForresterFebruary 2017

‘Oak, toasted and honeyed on the nose, generous and round, concentrated with an oily texture,’ began Sara Bachiorri of Chez Bruce, continuing: ‘Peaches, melon and honey on the palate, dry and mineral on the finish with the fruit lingering. Well made, with ageing potential for up to five years.’

Silver MedalSommelier Wine Awards 2017

A surfeit of creamy oak and tropical richness, layers of roasted fig, aloe vera, guava on a full-bodied, amazingly textured palate. Rich and well-balanced with excellent length.

Gorgeous complex white Review by DMC

Finally! This is a lovely white wine that can hold up on it's own or pair with flavourful foods. The FMC is a rich and complex wine with near perfect mouthfeel and balance, not too heavy but not flinty and acidic either. A great wine for for occasions when it can be appreciated properly. A memorable wine Review by Keynshamwine

The second the aromas hit the senses you know it's a special wine. I'd read press reviews which said FMC unofficially stands for F..... Marvelous Chenin and that it was the most complex white coming out of South Africa, so I definitely wanted to try it. I included it in a blind tasting for some wine-tasting newcomers and everyone immediately realised it was a stand-out wine. That said, the rich complexity of the wine was not to everyone's taste but for those of us that did it was a revelation. The label suggests it would be great with exotic Eastern spiced foods; it also says the wine was made "to propose an icon Chenin Blanc, a challenge to the world"! I like that and I think Ken Forrester has achieved that with this memorable wine . (Posted on 20/11/2011)
