Very interesting wine at the price - well worth a try. Review by ben
Price Value Quality The nose gives off fresh but reasonably rich cherry fruit tinged with only just ripened berries and suffused with mediterranean herbs. The fruit is definitely sweet in the mouth, but the lively herbiness and well-proportioned tannins (nothing too strident) balance this and it doesn't do a 'bubblegum' on you. There are some distinctly French 'dirty' carnal notes lurking there as well which make this a very interesting wine for £12. I would serve it with Saltimbocca (which we make with pork tenderloin rather than veal). It was good with unsalted gammon too - but it does have a lot of alcohol, some would say too much, I guess.
