Lush and round, with velvety textured tannins carrying ample layers of plum sauce, crushed currant and fig fruit and dark liquorice notes. Stays admirably fresh on the hefty finish, with a nice buried black tea hint. Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. 92 points. Drink now through 2011.

5 stars. A marriage of power and finesse. Aromas of wood smoke, dried flowers and wild fruits. On the palate, rounded yet spicy with a silky texture and a long, lingering finish. Up to 2009.

Winemaking
Aged for 12 months in French medium toasted oak barrels. Then the final coupage is bottled and kept in stowages for 10 more months. All grapes are hand harvested from old vines (mostly planted in 1948). 950m above sea level, the vineyards are irrigated from the Mendoza River, through drainage channels, branches, irrigation ditches and tracks into the stony soil.
