  • A family owned business in the heart of Hampshire, Hattingley valley has been winning International acclaim and awards ever since their first vintage in just 2013. Their English wine project began in 2008 and has developed into an a custom built, eco-friendly winery, farming some 24 hectares of vines across two separate sites. The first winery in the UK to adopt solar power, Hattingley Valley use the traditional method to make their wines but key to their range is the unique style they employ. Using barrel ageing, as well as ageing on lees, Hattingley Valley is regarded as a top brand abroad, and looks to be gaining just as much recognition across its native land. .

A classic varietal blend, the wine is a beautiful and delicate colour with an abundance of red fruit aromas. Ageing on lees, the wine is elegant with hints of strawberry and toasted notes on the palatte. Refreshing and with a wonderfully balancing acidity.

Press ReviewPress

The 2014 Rosé is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier and 20% Pinot Noir Pécoce. Now this is a very impressive sparkling Rosé. It has a succinct bouquet of freshly picked strawberry, red cherry and a touch of green apple, all precise and quite mineral-driven. The palate is fresh on the entry with a slight waxiness to the texture. It has more complexity than its peers and it fans out gloriously with hints of praline and strawberry towards the vivacious finish. This is one to serve to the next person that refutes the idea of great English sparkling wine.

Winemaking

The red wine was made from a small parcel of exceptionally ripe Burgundy clone Pinot Noir. It was hand harvested and sorted in the vineyard before being processed by gravity and given a five-day cold maceration. Our red wine was then blended with the Blanc de Noir cuvée to give a classy fruit driven Sparkling Rosé.

Food recommendation

Oysters and crab, fish and chips, smoked salmon, spicy dishes, berries and citrus desserts or simply on its own as the perfect aperitif.
