Domaine Jean-Michel Gaunoux

Jean-Michel Gaunoux learned his winemaking skills at a very early age by working with his father, Francois, at the family’s domaine. He has since set up his own cellar in Meursault where he owns and tends just 6 hectares of land. The yield is kept respectably low in the vineyards and winemaking is of a very minimalist nature in the winery. Jean-Michel uses new oak to age his wines, but tempers its use in order to allow the fruit (that was so painstakingly and lovingly achieved over the previous year) to shine through and not be overpowered by clumsy barrel ageing.
