Champagne Moutardier

Le Breuil

Based just west of Epernay in Le Breuil, Pinot Meunier specialist Moutardier is run by Englishman Jonathan Saxby, who married Jean Moutardier’s daughter Elisabeth in 1992. They own 16 hectares of prime vineyard in the very special Surmelin Vallée which has a unique microclimate.

The Carte d’Or contains 90% Meunier with a little Chardonnay and the fine, round Sélection is 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. Vintage and Rosé contain 85% and 80% of Pinot Meunier respectively, which gives a distinctly fruity character to the wine.

The declaration of disgorgement date on the back label provides an extra guarantee of consistency.
