The white Picpoul variety is grown throughout southern France, but has gained a particularly strong reputation for quality in one specific area in the Languedoc — Picpoul de Pinet. This small appellation, situated half way between Béziers and Montpellier,is ideally suited to a variety which when handled correctly, produces fresh, crisp wines with good acidity.
