A staggering eight generations and three hundred years of winemaking expertise has shaped August Ziegler into the successful producer it is today. The estate has come a long way since travelling tailor Johan Adam Ziegler, charmed by the daughter of a local winemaker, settled and began to make wine in Maikammer, in the Rienland-Pfalz region in 1717. Now headed by Herwarth Ziegler and family, the winery was named German Winery of the Year in 2008 by The German Agricultural Society.

The Ziegler portfolio provides superb complexity and texture, from fruit grown in the mineral rich soils of Maikammer amongst almond, fig, kiwi and lemon plantations. We have selected the dry Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc and two stunning Rieslings.

August Ziegler combines heritage, tradition and quality and we are certain, has a very promising future ahead.
