Vermouth

Initially hailing from across Europe, but now created across the globe these are often secret recipes but focus on aromatising wine – adding herbs and spices – to create refreshing tonics. The Romans were among the first society to make vermouth, extending the life of wines and altering the flavour for meals and dependent on the time of day. Nowadays the styles vary slightly from Italy (Martini) to Germany (Belsazar) to Australia (Regal Rogue) and even Britain (Sacred).
