Tasting Note

Beautiful - creamy-textured, with wonderful purity of fruit, superb balance and fine, sustained flavours on the finish.  Seriously classy. Drink now and over the next 5-6 years

Press

  • 97/100 - Jittery. Nervous. Chalky. Subtle. The most reticent of the swag. Apricot pith and faint stone fruit allusions jangle across a beam of vanilla-cedar oak, a skein of mineral tension and a core of mealy nourishment. This will age beautifully, attested to by the pulse of flavour, thrilling complexity and exhilarating length. This does need patience, though. Buy and wait.

  • 95/100 - A Faultline of precision and tension, rejoicing in the struck flint and gun smoke exuberance of reductive fermentation and upholding the beautiful white peach and lemon of impeccably tended Mornington Chardonnay. Focused acid line and fine-ground mineral texture bring energy and determination to a finish of lingering fruit presence.

  • 93+/100 - Slowly working through the Kooyong single vineyard releases. It’s one of the more pleasant tasks a wine critic faces. Powerful release. A power of nectarine, grapefruit and tinned pineapple flavours, cut here with flint, oakspice and oatmeal. For all its power it remains tight, even coiled; every screw has been attended to. It finishes well too. Very good wine.
