Prosecco
Prosecco
Prosecco is a sparkling white wine that is fruity, and light and frothy in texture, with elements of sweetness. The level of ‘fizz’ can vary depending on the method of production; from frizzante (semi-sparkling) to spumante (sparkling).
The grape itself has was renamed Glera in 2009, allowing the name Prosecco to be legally registered as a wine producing Region. This ensured that only wines produced within this region were entitled to use the name. Prosecco is a white grape variety produced in the relatively cool climate of the wine producing, north-eastern region of Italy - the Veneto.
