Domaine de Belle Mare

A fantastic representation of new style Languedoc wines from the vine-growing area of the Belle Mare estate, which stretches for 45 hectares around the crystal clear waters of Lake Thau, the largest and deepest of the Languedoc lakes and a key area for the cultivation of oysters and mussels.

No-one enjoys the site’s proximity to the lake more than agriculturalist and oenologist, Fabienne Capello, a keen competition rower who proudly completed the gruelling 40km Vogalonga à Venise last May. Fabienne’s passion for life, Latin roots and Southern generosity are quite naturally reflected in the personality of her wines.

The vineyard enjoys a Mediterranean climate with a prominent northerly wind, which helps maintain vineyard health and enables perfect ripening. Quality is then maintained in the cellar where cutting edge technology maintains optimal conditions throughout all the steps of the winemaking process right up to bottling to give you the very best quality possible.

Winemaking at the vineyard is now exclusively run by women, and viticulture by the men. An harmonious balance which we’re certain you’ll find reflected in the wines.
