Domaine de la Janasse

Châteauneuf du Pape

“Domaine de la Janasse is one of the great winemaking estates of not only France, but of the world.” – Robert Parker

Brother and sister team, Christophe and Isabelle Sabon, have been delivering unbelievably consistent quality every year since the mid 1990s. It is hard to think of another wine producing estate that has done so well, even in the most difficult vintages. In good years the wines are superb. And in great vintages, they are phenomenal – surpassing the work of just about anyone else.

It all comes down to well-situated vineyards, old vines and really meticulous attention to detail in both the vineyard and the cellar (everyone claims to do this, but the Sabons undoubtedly practise it). Nothing is taken for granted throughout the growing cycle in any year, and fruit is always selected rigorously. Every appellation from humble ‘IGP’ to special cuvée Châteauneuf receives the same fastidious treatment, making each the best that it can possibly be.
