Domaine Saumaize-Michelin

Domaine Saumaize-Michelin is located at the foot of the dramatic Roche de Vergisson, seven kilometres west of the town of Mâcon. Owners, Roger and Christine Saumaize, took on the domaine in 1978 and are dedicated to caring for the health of the soil and their vines.  They have been practising organic viticulture for around 20 years, stepping this up to a biodynamic regimen since 2005 – although they are not certified as such.  This, and their attention to detail (their cellar is one of the most pristine in all of France), results in beautiful wines that are faithful to their origins and remarkably consistent in quality.
