Mumm Champagne

Breaking new boundaries has been at the heart of Champagne G.H. Mumm since the House was founded in 1827. Georges H. Mumm, the founding father, developed a taste for discovery and adventure with his friend the famous French explorer Captain Jean-Baptiste Charcot.

In 1875, the House began decorating its bottles with the Cordon Rouge as a tribute to the red ribbon of the Legion of Honour, France’s highest civilian distinction created by Napoleon I. This powerful red sash has now become synonymous with House of Champagne G.H. Mumm and the extraordinary achievements it supports. Today, Champagne G.H. Mumm is integral to some of the world’s greatest sporting events, from world class sailing competitions such as The Vendée Globe to international motor sports events including Formula One, Le Mans and The SuperCar Run.
