Tasting Note

From Champagne's oldest cellars, this Champagne has peach and acacia notes on the nose, a citrus-fresh yet delicately honeyed palate, and a beautiful, elegant finish. Taittinger is one of the last great Champagne Houses to remain independent and is owned and actively managed by the family named on the label.

Winemaking

The grapes for the Brut Reserve come from the prime vineyards throughout Champagne, with approximately 50% coming from the Taittinger estate. Produced each year from the first pressings of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay this is the definitive cuvée of Champagne Taittinger. It is a carefully balanced blend of wines from up to 25 different 'crus'. It also includes a portion of reserve wine to ensure consistency from year to year. Prior to release the Brut Reserve is aged for 3-4 years giving the wine depth whilst allowing parts to become fully integrated.

Press

  • 'Something for the Weekend' - Chardonnay brings complexity to this delicate wine. Rich apple-sweet fruit dissolve into a fine textured mousse.

  • Taittinger Champagne is consistently excellent. The Brut Reserve is the definition of its light, racy, delicate, house style.

    • David Williams, The Observer
  • Three years on the lees. Fresh and vivid with sweet lemony fruit. Nice precision here with a hint of grapefruit and toast, as well as a lively, smooth fruity core. Nice acidity here. Light with some citrus and toast notes, and a touch of sweetness on the finish. Good acidity 91/100 Jamie Goode,
